How To Install The Wisnia Theme On Your WordPress Blog
Use one of the following instructions to install and activate Wisnia using your preferred method.
OPTION 1 – Install From The WordPress.org Theme Directory:
- Click on the Appearance > Themes menu option in the WordPress Dashboard
- Click the Add New button at the top of the page
- Type ‘Wisnia‘ in the search field, without the quotes
- Click the Install button below the Wisnia preview thumbnail
- Once the theme has been installed, click the Activate button
- You’ll then be prompted with a message to run the Theme’s setup process. Follow the instructions under How To Complete The Theme Setup.
OPTION 2 – Install By Uploading The Theme Zip File Manually:
- Download the Wisnia.zip from WordPress.org here
- Click on the Appearance > Themes menu option in the WordPress Dashboard
- Click the Add New button at the top of the page
- Click on the Upload Theme button at the top of the page
- Click the Browse… button and select the Wisnia.zip file
- Click OK and then Install Now
- Once the theme has been installed, click the Activate link
- You’ll then be prompted with a message to run the Theme setup process. Follow the further instructions below.
How To Complete The Theme Setup
Once you’ve installed the Wisnia Theme you’ll be prompted with a setup message. This setup is optional but strongly recommended to get the most out of the theme.
As it will make sure you have the right settings and import some sample layouts and pages that you can use as a template to ensure your Theme looks exactly like the live demo here.
(If you don’t follow the setup, your Theme will likely look empty with not much setup. Sadly this is just the way Themes are setup by default from WordPress.org)
Follow the steps below to complete the setup:
- Download your copy of the Demo zip file
- Go back to the WordPress dashboard and now click on the Get Started button
- The process will take a couple of minutes to complete
- You’ll then be redirected to the Demo Import screen
- Click Browse… and select the wisnia-demo-files.zip you just downloaded
- Click Upload Demo Zip
- Once the process has completed click on the Okay prompt to finish
Your Theme will now look exactly like the previews. The import file will have created some example pages, posts, menus and layouts you can use as a template for your own content.
You can completely edit, copy and delete these as needed. So have fun and be sure to take a look at the customization options under Appearance > Customize
